Sound video feedback and learner response

Sound video feedback and learner response: TEACHER'S FEEDBACK: WWW: Very appropriate images Contrapuntal is very effective- makes images more dramatic Two sets of images- painting-fighting (continual theme) Appropriate time period Powerful music EBI: Pace is too fast for the first section Smooth transition Student feedback: WWW: Good image choice Good contrast between Parallel and Contrapuntal Comedic effect Met brief given Good music choice EBI: Transition between pictures MY REFLECTION: Overall , I think that my partner and I's work had a great choice of images that contrasted well to highlight the difference between  parallel  and  contrapuntal  sounds. However, to improve, I agree with the feedback given by my teacher and my peers  that we should include smooth transition effects between the images and maintain a slower pace . I think the top three videos in my opinion were of : LAYLA OLIVIA DIYARI This is because they had smooth transitions between the...

SOUNDS ANALYSIS:

SOUNDS ANALYSIS: Christopher Nolan's Inception (2010). "Dream Collapsing" sequence https://youtu.be/Ten_gA_Fp6Q?feature=shared Diegetic and Non-Diegetic Sound Diegetic Sound : Sounds that are part of the film's world. In this scene, we hear the sounds of the environment collapsing, such as explosions, crashing waves, and the characters' footsteps and dialogue. Non-Diegetic Sound :  The deep, droning bass sound blends with the diegetic sound effects, enhancing the dreamlike atmosphere, and the characters themselves cannot hear this. Parallel and Contrapuntal Sound Parallel Sound : The music here is parallel, as it matches with the intensity of the action, such as the destructive world collapsing. It also mirrors the chaotic visuals. Contrapuntal Sound : There’s less use of contrapuntal sound in this scene, as the music and sound effects follow the action throughout. Sound Bridges The non-diegetic music acts as a sound bridge , transitioning between different laye...

SOUNDS Practical tasks:

SOUNDS Practical tasks: Part 1 : Rukiya 30 sec- parallel  Parallel sound is music that is associated with the scene. Part 2: Gurleen 30 sec- contrapuntal Contrapuntal sound is music that is not normally associated with the scene. For the second half of the video, we decided to use violent, boxing pictures to contrast the first half of the picture, which accompanied the sound very well. The pictures that we used in the last 30 seconds create a disturbing scene, while the first half seems calm and composed. Plan/ ideas: Firstly, my partner and I decided to use a classical piece of music that is calm and peaceful. Next, my partner found pictures to add for the first 30 seconds—these pictures were used to show the idea of parallel sound, e.g., ancient paintings and romantic paintings. Then, for the last 30 seconds, I chose images that contrasted the first half and the peaceful music. These pictures were of violent boxing scenes, as shown, to show the idea of contrapuntal sound...

MISE-EN-SCENE RECREATION - FEEDBACK

Image
Film & TV Language: Lighting  image 1 Lighting type - low-key lighting  Top lighting  The effect created- the smoke paired with soft top lighting creates a sense of mystery and a film noir -like atmosphere. It also highlights the woman's face while casting shadows on her, giving a sense of enigma. Image 2 Lighting type- low key lighting Top lighting  The effect created - the top lighting casts deep shadows on her face, accentuating her expressions . This dramatic effect creates tension often seen in classic Noir films . Image 3 Lighting type - low-key lighting Top lighting The effect created-  the lighting gives him a sense of power, while the shadows enhance his expressions and hint at ambiguity. Image 4 Lighting type- low-key lighting Under-lighting/ backlighting The effect created- makes the subject appear larger and isolates the figure from the background. The backlighting also enhances the rain.  Image 5 Lighting type- high-key lighting F...

MISE-EN-SCENE RECREATION - FEEDBACK

MISE-EN-SCENE RECREATION - FEEDBACK Teacher's Feedback: www:   lowkey lighting+ hard lighting accurate angle dark background good performance good editing  good cinematography EBI: Embed original video  more tears Student feedback: www: accurate lighting accurate background good editing  good background   EBI: More tears REFLECTION: For my future videos, I will make sure my character is able to use more clarified facial expressions to mimic the original scene. SELF-ASSESSMENT: From the feedback I have received from my teacher and my peers, I agree that my work contains good editing, alongside good lighting to mimic the original scene, however, I believe more tears from my actor would be better to mirror the original character. I have learned that Mise-en-scène plays a crucial role in shaping the visual storytelling of film and television. It refers to everything that appears on screen, including setting, costume, lighting, and actor placement and is used...
