Sound video feedback and learner response

Sound video feedback and learner response:

TEACHER'S FEEDBACK:

WWW:

  • Very appropriate images
  • Contrapuntal is very effective- makes images more dramatic
  • Two sets of images- painting-fighting (continual theme)
  • Appropriate time period
  • Powerful music

EBI:

  • Pace is too fast for the first section
  • Smooth transition

Student feedback:

WWW:
  • Good image choice
  • Good contrast between Parallel and Contrapuntal
  • Comedic effect
  • Met brief given
  • Good music choice
EBI:

  • Transition between pictures

MY REFLECTION:

Overall, I think that my partner and I's work had a great choice of images that contrasted well to highlight the difference between parallel and contrapuntal sounds. However, to improve, I agree with the feedback given by my teacher and my peers that we should include smooth transition effects between the images and maintain a slower pace.

I think the top three videos in my opinion were of :
LAYLA
OLIVIA
DIYARI

This is because they had smooth transitions between their images, and quite differently, they used videos/ images of themselves, which really stands out and makes their pieces of work more interesting and attractive.

IMPORTANCE:

From my lessons and this practical task, I've learnt that music plays a crucial role in film and tv. I have understood that there is not only one type of sound, but many different types such as: parallel, contrapuntal, diegetic, and non-diegetic, and they all have different effects which cleverly contribute to the scene, enhancing it further.
